| 1996 | The pages for this year have been made into ‘yarn’ and are being knitted into a large, unwieldy quilt to bring emphasis to that other memorial of AIDS that was shown in its entirety on the Washington, D.C. Mall for the last time in the same year as this AIDS Chronicle.

Interdisciplinary Studies
For students who are interested in more than one art/design discipline, or who are just as passionate about their Liberal Arts and Sciences courses as they are about their studio courses, Interdisciplinary Studies allows students to pursue a defined course sequence that explores a specific theme, topic or discipline (minor) or a series of self-directed elective courses in a second studio area (Interdisciplinary Concentration).

Artists Community and Teaching (A.C.T)
The ACT Program allows eligible BFA students to major in one area and minor in either Teacher Credential Preparation or Community Arts Engagement. Students choose ACT coursework as part of elective options based on their consultations with Department Chairs or faculty advisors and the ACT Coordinator. Students take 14-18 credits depending on their major and their selected ACT concentration.

Volunteers
The ICI welcomes volunteers in many different capacities. Some of our projects, such as the AIDS Chronicles and the AIDS Bottle Project have been realized to a great degree through the dedicated efforts of community volunteers.
